March 4, 2017 February in Review

It has actually taken us the entire month of February in historical downtown Ft. Myers to recover from our 11 month escapade called “The Great Loop”. Our recovery has been a two-part process... letting go and embracing:

Letting go of our concerns for watching the weather, setting up course headings, making day-break departures, needing safe harbors, dealing with mechanical breakdowns and hot-footing it for provisions.

Embracing fun-filled, relaxing activities built around social gatherings... festivals, parades, dockside celebrations, group strolls to ice cream shops, coffee shops and restaurants, farmers’ markets, classic car shows, a dingy excursion, a Beatles Tribute Concert at the local art center, a guided tour of The Edison/Ford Winter Estate and exploring Pine Island by car.

How come I feel so young but look so old!?!

By March our community begins to move on and we bid a fond adieu...

I love your posting and the pictures are fantastic! Looks like you had a lot of fun, oh wait you did. Nice to make memories so when we are truly old we can sit in a rocker on our porches and tell wild stories, with pictures to prove never a moment was wasted.

Hi,
I am Bill from Minnesota. My wife and kids and I talked with the two you on Sunday. It was interesting hearing a little about your adventures. They are fascinating to this Midwest born hick. Thanks for sharing your story. I will keep up with you.
