A Life Remembered
A Life Remembered: Oric Osman O’Brien January 22, 1918- April 24, 2015
One of our strongest supporters for our life on the go...whether is was our going down blue highways or waterways was Darcy’s dad, Oric O’Brien. Oric had long ago discovered that his rhythm of life required an air-conditioned home in sunny N. Fort Myers, Florida for the winter, the Lincoln, Maine homestead with central heat for the shoulder months, and his camp in Lakeville, Maine for the summer. He was well-known for his early morning brisk walks and social moments wherever he was. Having traveled the country in his earlier retirement days, he found it satisfying to follow us on his Rand McNally Atlas. Every other day Darcy would give him a call. They would compare experiences, often chatting for a half hour or so. At age 97 and three months, Oric passed from this life to the great hereafter. Darcy’s dad truly lived until he died. Well done, Oric... but oh, how you are missed!
